Semiquincentennial Movie #1: Hidden Figures

Friday, February 13, 2026 - 7:30 PM CST

In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States, the Lyric Theatre is proud to present a special year-long United States Semiquincentennial Film Series highlighting powerful stories that reflect the people, moments, and movements that have shaped our nation. Sponsored by the Rufus H. Hardin Museum

Each film in the series has been thoughtfully selected to honor different perspectives and voices in American history — from unsung heroes to pivotal cultural moments — and to spark conversation, reflection, and community connection.

Our first film in the series is Hidden Figures, a remarkable true story that follows three brilliant African American women mathematicians at NASA whose work helped launch astronaut John Glenn into orbit during the early days of the U.S. space program. Their contributions were long overlooked, but their impact on science, history, and civil rights is undeniable.

This screening is presented in recognition of Black History Month and serves as both a celebration of achievement and a reminder of the many voices that deserve to be seen, heard, and remembered as part of the American story.

Join us for an inspiring evening of film, history, and shared experience as we begin this meaningful journey toward America’s 250th birthday!

Concert: The Limeliters

Saturday, March 7, 2026 - 7:30 PM CST

The Brownwood Lyric Theatre is proud to present The Limeliters as part of the Dale Wheelis Concert Series!

For 60+ years the Limeliters have entertained standing-room-only crowds with their incredible musical talent and zany sense of humor. They first made their mark in folk clubs and on college campuses during the height of the folk music boom of the early 60′s, which led to numerous TV appearances. With different configurations over the years, the group has preserved their signature vocal sound.

Today, after 6 decades in the music business, The Limeliters are still one of the most exciting and entertaining vocal acts touring the country!

With the addition of newest members, C. Daniel Boling and Steve Brooks, The Limeliters are poised to “pass the music on” to new audiences, young and old.

Join us for an unforgettable night of music, laughs, and fun!
